Review: Simply Delicious Amish Cooking

Simply Delicious Amish Cooking Recipes and stories from the Amish of Sarasota, Florida by Sherry Gore is filled with recipes and articles about life in Sarasota, Florida.

Pinecraft is an Amish and Mennonite vacation spot, and this book explains the history behind the town as well as the Amish and Mennonite's roots. They had some interesting stories and facts scattered throughout one of which was that Yoder's Restaurant was featured on a popular food show on tv.

The recipes sounded so good. They even had one for homemade crescent rolls, but they call them butter horns instead. I would love to make those one day! There are so many recipes I want to try especially the breads and desserts. Plus, the strawberry jelly recipe sounded so much easier than I thought it would be. I'm definitely going to try my hand at the jelly!

I've always wanted to go to Amish country, but now I'm thinking of going to Sarasota instead. Who knew the Amish have a vacation spot?! Pretty cool.... :-)

I was given this book free from Booksneeze in exchange for an honest review.
