Children's Mystery Review

Rock Harbor Search and Rescue by Colleen Coble and Robin Caroll is a mystery for middle grade children. It was well-written and a good mystery for kids. :-)

Emily O'Reilly gets to help her step-mom, Naomi, out with search and rescue so when Naomi told her that she would be getting her own dog to train Emily was ecstatic. There was one catch, though. Her dad wants her to earn half of the money herself to prove that she is responsible enough to handle all the training involved.

Emily makes almost half of the money at the fall festival, but when Mary Dancer's famous necklace is stolen Emily is the suspect. She was supposed to be watching Mary's table at the time it was stolen so her dad makes her give all her earnings to Mrs. Dancer. Emily was upset, but she was even more angryand hurt that her dad didn't believe her. She is determined to prove her innocence and with the help of her best friend, Olivia, she sets out to do just that!

This is a good, clean book for kids to read. The only thing I didn't like was how the dad didn't believe his child. But they did fix that later in the book so it worked out. I was really annoyed about it there for awhile. lol

I was given this book free through NetGalley as long as I review it.
