Amish Fiction Review

Wow! I loved loved LOVED Courting Cate by Leslie Gould. I don't know about you, but I get tired of the same Amish stories. It's like nobody has any new ideas. But this book was so refreshing!!! It is now my favorite Amish story, and  I can't wait to find out what else she has written. :- )

Cate Miller has resigned herself to being a spinster at twenty-three. As long as she has books to read she is happy. But then her father lays down a new rule  - Cate has to marry before her younger sister, Betsy, does. Both are aghast. Betsy already has a beau so she is desperate for Cate to find someone.

Pete Treger has been hitchhiking around the country and has decided he is done traveling and is ready to find a wife. Cate's father hires Pete to work in the showroom of his carpentry business so Cate sees him a lot. Betsy wants her to get together with Pete, but Cate resists until she goes on a hike with her dad, friends, and Pete. Her feelings for him start to change during that trip. But then she finds out some devastating news. Why did men always tease her and hurt her? Is she really that unlovable?

This is an awesome book! I highly recommend it. I love how it shows that God's love can really change you. Cate had been filled with so much insecurity, but when she finally went back to God and asked for his help that's when her life started to change for the better. :-)
