Another Suspense Fiction Review

Shattered by Dani Pettrey is the second book in the "Alaskan Courage" series. This book was as good as the first one! The story was well written and engaging. Plus, her characters are real and believable. I just hate that she adds just a little too much intimate stuff in there. Makes me feel uncomfortable. Anyway, she writes so well you do not want to put the book down and do anything else!!! You want to find out who and what and why. :-D

Piper McKenna is the youngest of the McKenna clan. When her brother, Reef, comes to her and her sister's house with blood all over him and says he didn't kill her, of course Piper believes him. Even with all the overwhelming evidence against him.  She is determined to prove her brother's innocence.

Even though he hated to do it, Deputy Landon Grainger had to arrest Reef because he was the only suspect. Landon is very logical and his mantra is that the evidence doesn't lie. Which is why he takes a leave of absence from his job so that he can look for evidence of someone else who murdered Karli. Piper is thrilled and decides to go with him on his search despite his emphatic no, she will not!

They only have a few weeks to find enough evidence to convict the real killer, and as they search for answers they find their feelings for each other changing from friendship to love.

I enjoyed this mystery. I think it was harder to figure out than the first book which made for a fun ride. :-)

I was given this book free as long as I review it.
