Suspense Fiction Review

Submerged by Dani Pettrey is the first in the "Alaskan Courage" series. It reminded me of Dee Henderson's O'Malley series. It's a suspense series, and it was really really well written! I fell in love with all the characters and can't wait to read about all five siblings!!! The only thing I disliked was I thought she added too many details about Bailey's past.

Bailey Craig is going back to her hometown of Yancey, Alaska for her aunt, Agnes Grey's, death. Agnes left her store The Trading Post to Bailey, but she doesn't want to keep it since she'd have to stay in Yancey. Everybody knew all the wrong things she did back in highschool and would assume she stayed the same. While in Yancey, more people were discovered murdered and then her store was broken in to. Bailey had to figure out why they would target her.The police needed her experience in Russian American history so she was forced to stay.

Cole McKenna and his family are search and rescue divers. They run a store for diving and other outdoor activities. When he sees Bailey again, all his old feelings for her come rushing back. They keep meeting up, but when he finds out her store was broken into he knows his feelings for her haven't changed over the years. But could he convince Bailey to stay?

As they work together to solve the mystery of her aunt's death, will Bailey let go of the past and let God bring her into a new, better future?

I loved the message of God's forgiveness in the story. Anyway, I think you will enjoy the mystery this book offers. I haven't read such a good suspense book in a long time so this author was a good find for me. :-)
