Review: A March Bride

A March Bride by Rachel Hauck is part of the A Year of Weddings novellas. It continues the story from Once Upon A Prince, and I found it just as riveting as the first book! I really like the main characters and their unique situation and am hoping for more books about them!

Susanna Truitt's marriage to King Nathaniel is only a couple weeks away, and even though she has given up a lot to marry Nate she knows he is worth it. But then he drops another bomb. The one thing she has left that is solely hers is about to be stripped from her because of some law made in Parliament. Fearful and uncertain, Susanna flies home to her mom and tries to decide what God wants her to do. Nate's not about to let her go that easy so get ready for a very romantic story. :-)

I enjoyed this short story a lot and am wanting to look into the other wedding novellas! If you liked Once Upon A Prince you will love this book.

Review: Princess Ever After

Princess Ever After by Rachel Hauck is the second book in the Royal Wedding Series. I really enjoyed the first story so I couldn't wait to read this one, but to be honest, I was kind of disappointed. It took me awhile to even like the main character, and then when I was starting to get into the story and enjoying all the girlie aspects of the book I got hit with something so unrealistic it ruined everything for me. I know, I know, fiction isn't always expected to be realistic, but let me tell you, it sure does help me if it is.

Regina Beswick has made a lot of changes in the last six months. She quit her lucrative job to restore cars thinking that her life was finally looking up. But then the other shoe falls. Tanner Burkhardt arrives in Tallahassee with documentation saying she is in reality a princess who can turn Hessenberg into a sovereign country again. Reeling with shock, Regina goes to her father who remembers a box given to him by Regina's grandmother. Looking through it helped convince Regina she may be a princess after all.

Tanner, the Minister of Culture of the Grand Duchy of Hessenberg, is thrilled that Regina has decided to journey to Hessenberg. As he helps her come to realize her destiny, he falls in love with the Southern girl turned royal.

I enjoyed the story of a normal girl finding out she is of royal blood, but like I said earlier some of the things that happened irritated me. Like when she was the only one to see some mystical light shining in the forest. It felt more like fantasy than anything and ruined it for me. It felt like the author wasn't sure how to end it so she came up with that. So the storyline was good, the plot so-so, and the ending irritating....
