Review: The Glass Castle

The Glass Castle was like eating a good cookie.... It was so good I kept gobbling it up. haha The authors Trisha White Priebe and Jerry B. Jenkins fabricated a tale of mystery and suspense without darkness and evil sucking the life out of the book.

Avery and her little brother are running from someone chasing them in the woods, but they can't get away and are captured. When she wakes up later, she is frantic with worry for her brother. It's impossible to escape so Avery waits. Arriving at the castle, she is taken to a room where there are other boys and girls her age. Why are they all here in this room at the top of the castle?

Confused, Avery tries to find out all she can. She learns there is a sick King looking for a child around her age since no one really knows what happened to his son, but the Queen wants to get rid of all the orphans in the kingdom. Is that why they were taken and hidden?

I loved how clean this story was; there wasn't anything questionable in the book! It was suspenseful without being terrifying, and I think kids and parents are going to love this series. I can't wait to read more of this series. :-)

I was given this book for free from NetGalley and Barbour Publishing in exchange for an honest review.
