Review: My Heart Stood Still

  Available August 2014

My Heart Stood Still is the sequel to the Sisters of Mercy Flats by Lori Copeland. These books are simple, fun, and easy reading for the beach or whenever you want something without much depth. Personally, I prefer more realistic stories so this really wasn't my cup of tea. But if you like light reading, you will probably like these books. :-)

Anne-Marie is grateful to be rescued from the Comanches, but she isn't sure if she can trust her stoic rescuer, Creed, who is also an Indian. Especially since he is very quick to dump her off somewhere to try to find her way back home. But when she accidentally ends up causing even more harm to Creed than he did to her, she decides to hang with him longer. Realizing that she's falling in love with him, she wonders if Creed could ever want to marry her. And what about her sisters? They were probably worried sick...

This story was very predictable and unbelievably silly. There were some good parts, but for me all the other aspects kind of drowned out the few good spots. But like I said before, it's a fun, easy reading story and if that's what you are looking for then this may be the book for you. If not, you should probably look up another book.

I was given this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
