Review: A Christmas Gift for Rose

A Christmas Gift for Rose by Tricia Goyer is an Amish novella packaged in a cute little hardback book that's perfect for gifts. I love little books like this! I love to use them as decorations during the holidays. :-)

Rose Yoder has been through a lot ever since her intended, Jonathan Fisher, voluntarily joined the army and served as a medic overseas during WWII. While he was away, she had to deal with visits from the Bishop and whispers and stares from everyone in her community. Now the war is over and Jonathan has returned, but Rose is just as confused as ever. How can she trust her life to someone who went to the world?

As Rose struggles to know what to do, she finds out a devastating truth. She is really Englisch! Will the community and most importantly, Jonathan, accept her Englisch heritage and let her stay on as Amish? Or will she have to leave and forge a new life?

How Rose came to live with her Amish family is actually based on a true story! Isn't that fascinating?! It was an interesting and enjoyable read. :-)

I was given this book free from Booksneeze in exchange for an honest review.
