Dark Road Home by Elizabeth Ludwig is the second book in the Edge of Freedom series. This book was okay. I liked the uniqueness of the story, but at the same time I don't really care if I read the next book. It just didn't hold my interest very well.
Ana Kavanagh has been angry at God ever since the fire that took her family years ago. So when her friend convinced her to go help out at the shelter she was surprised to find that she actually enjoyed it, and she started to realize that God wasn't who she thought He was. While volunteering, Ana met Eoghan Hamilton, Cara's long lost twin brother.
Eoghan wants to join back up with the Fenians and is willing to do anything to get there. But the closer he gets to Ana the more he doubts what they are asking him to do.
Ana meanwhile remembers more of what happened years ago in Ireland. Will she ever be safe again?
I just wasn't drawn in to this story. The writing was great, and the characters were well written. It just was too predictable and very unbelievable in some parts. Especially near the end.
I was given this book free from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.
